With sadness we report the passing of a dear friend of Bullis School, Captain John Spencer. Born in England, he served in the British Army and spent 34 years at Bullis as a gifted mathematics teacher, an inspiring Middle School head, and a beloved part of our community. He was 91.

Mr. Spencer was a thoughtful, dignified and formal gentleman, with a kind word for everyone. He had a deep love of the school to which he gave decades of devoted service. His friendship touched our hearts, and his legacy still informs the deepest values of our school. He will be deeply missed.

We're bursting with Bulldog pride...

Tanard Jackson '03 is now a member of the NFL Tampa Bay Buccaneers!  Go Tanard!!!

Bullis' LAX star Scott Sowanick '03 graduated from Princeton in June  and was drafted into the Denver Outlaws.

And, good news!...Kira is back!  Kira Orr '93 is coaching girls basketball and softball this coming school year.

Alumni and the Annual Fund                                                                                                                 Why  does Bullis need your alumni donations?  Simply because every independent school counts on the entire community, especially alumni, to keep it operational!  Bullis is an independentschool - dependant on tuition and the Annual Fund to keep it running.  Unlike most colleges (where most alumni tend to make AF gifts!), Bullis receives NO Federal, State or County funding.  Bullis prepared you for the college of your choice, isn't it time to give back?   Your participation is most important - remember...  You are where you are, because you were here!   Please help Bullis with your participatory gift to the Annual Fund!  On-line giving is available by going to the website, www.bullis.org and following the simple instructions.  Or, mail your check to the Alumni Off ice, The Bullis School, 10601 Falls Road, Potomac, MD 20854.  Give what you can - $75 in honor of our 75th Anniversary, the amount of your graduating year, or simply $10...but please, participate!  Be part of our growing list of alumni donors! Please don't forget to make your name changes or address changes to your home page or email your changes to karen_dockser@bullis.org!  And, be sure to let us know when a new baby arrives - we have a special gift for each new Bullis baby!

Special thanks to Bullis alumni who made a gift to the 2006-2007 Annual Fund!  Your support this year reached an all-time high and we are very grateful for your gifts and your participation.

Special Note from Karen Dockser '85 - New Alumni Director....

Throughout the years I have had many affiliations with The Bullis School. First, I enjoyed my years as a Bullis student, graduating in 1985.  As a a parent, I am proud to have my two children in the Lower School.  Afternoons find me coaching Bullis tennis teams.  Now, I am pleased to join Bullis as Director of Alumni. Some things have changed since I attended Bullis in the '80's  but the important things remain the same: the faculty still engages our students in the classroom, rehearsals for school plays take place in our beautiful Blair Family Center for the Arts and our teams are doing a great job representing Bullis on the courts and fields.

If you have not been back to Bullis lately please give me a call to arrange a tour.  I am here to keep you connected to Bullis and your classmates. Please contact me  301.983.5735 or karen_dockser@bullis.org.
